⚡ CTO
🌍 Hybrid – Toronto, ON – 2 days per week/month depending on proximity
💲 CAD$250-350k base plus stock
I’m working with a Canadian unicorn EdTech that works in the higher education space. They’re looking for a strong CTO leader to come into the team and provide thought leadership to the engineering org, helping take them forward through their next phase of growth.
You will be reporting to the Founder/CEO, get a seat on the exec team, and get the opportunity to make a true real impact across a growing, profitable tech for good, that is on its journey to potential exit. They’re looking for someone who has experience in a CTO position, leading a team of at least 80 engineers (at least 75% on-shore).
Responsibilities:
Align Technical Roadmaps with Business Goals
Develop a cohesive strategy spanning short, medium, and long-term objectives, ensuring technical initiatives support business growth and objectives.
Collaboratively Define and Refine the Long-Term Technical Vision
Adapt to evolving business needs and technological advancements, ensuring the technical vision aligns with overall business strategy.
Continuously Assess Technology Stacks
Identify architectural gaps, performance bottlenecks, and resilience issues, and propose strategic, long-term solutions.
Foster Transparent Communication with Business Leaders
Showcase insights into market trends and customer needs to ensure alignment and foster mutual understanding.
Develop and Execute Robust Strategies for Partnerships
Strengthen partnerships and external collaborations to enhance technology platform capabilities and nurture industry relationships.
Your Profile:
Visionary Technology Leadership
Ability to integrate technological advancements with business objectives, steering teams toward a harmonized strategic architecture.
Product Delivery Expertise
Proven track record in leading end-to-end design, development, and launch of scalable software products.
Startup Environment Experience
Demonstrated success in scaling up companies from a technology standpoint within dynamic startup environments.
AI/ML Knowledge
Familiarity with the latest AI/ML technologies and best practices, essential for driving the company’s roadmap and innovation.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Ability to guide pivotal decisions and foster collaboration across disciplines.
Cloud Computing Proficiency
Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) for building scalable and cost-efficient architectures.
Talent Development
Creates an environment conducive to talent recruitment, development, and innovation across the organization.
