Logistics and Inventory Specialist

Summit Nanotech is looking for a Logistics and Inventory Specialist to support the project teams by executing the timely coordination and delivery of appropriate materials and equipment within the forecasted budget. The successful candidate must have experience working both domestically and internationally, be comfortable with overall logistic and supply chain processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work closely with expeditors, inspectors, shipping and logistics staff, freight forwarders and technical and commercial support staff, for the supply of necessary materials, equipment and construction services, in accordance with the project’s standards, specifications and schedule
• Establish and maintain maximum and minimum consumables, spare parts and critical parts and tools inventory levels
• Communicate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of information in shipping records. Communicate clearly and concisely on the status of supply chain activities to stakeholders.
• Ensuring that products are delivered on time by coordinating with carriers such as trucking companies, railways and third-party logistics companies
• Maintaining relationships with vendors, including negotiating contracts and reviewing contracts for legal compliance
• Preparing of shipping documents such as customs declarations and insurance policies
• Coordinating shipments with customs officials to ensure compliance with international shipping laws
• Plan, direct, or coordinate the transportation, storage, or distribution of goods and services
• Develop forecasting plans to maintain enough inventory at multiple projects sites facilities
• Develop and maintain relationships with key logistics suppliers
• Verification, receiving & distribution of all incoming orders for inventory & non-inventory parts, including raw materials.
• Generating quote comparisons and contributing to internal supplier selection based on analysis
• Conducting market research to identify potential suppliers who can meet the company’s needs
• Negotiating contract terms with vendors, including price, delivery schedule, and payment terms
• Following up with vendors to ensure that orders are delivered on time and within budget parameters
• Review and codes all invoices relating to the shipment of goods and services
• Maintain a constant awareness of current and future market conditions that may affect the delivery of equipment and materials
• Verification, receiving & distribution of all incoming orders for inventory & non-inventory parts, including raw materials. Creating notice of arrivals, completing all procurement responsibilities in the receiving process.

Skills and Qualities

• Thoroughly familiar with methods of shipping, carriers and shipping lines, domestic and international port regulations
• Confident executing tasks within all areas of the supply chain logistics process
• Solid understanding of domestic and international purchasing, shipping and warehousing
• Thoroughly familiar with methods of shipping, carriers and shipping lines, domestic and international port regulations
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to prepare and make presentations to project and external groups and stakeholders
• Strong skills within MS Office Suite
• Exceptional negotiation skills
• Proven experience in logistics, transportation and inventory management competencies.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment, juggle multiple priorities and deliver in a targeted timeframe and budget
• 7 + years experience in a Supply Chain Management/Logistics position with increasing responsibilities within the Engineering, Procurement and Construction Industry or energy, mining, chemical industry.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, Construction Management, or SCM diploma or designation with strong experience
• Experience and overall understanding of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
• Experience in vendor negotiations and vendor contract review is required.
