Sales Manager
Courtyard and Residence Inn by Marriott, Calgary South
The Sales Manager, Dual Brand will be responsible for acquiring and maintaining quality corporate and group accounts. A self-starter who is as adept at picking up the phone to make cold calls as they are at nurturing existing key accounts to maximum profitability, the Sales Manager will be an integral part of the team tasked with developing and managing revenues. To be successful, the Sales Manager will need to thrive in a fast-paced environment where results, recognition, and reward go hand in hand.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Produce room sales through prospecting, networking, responding to inquiries, conducting site inspections, client meetings and building relationships with corporations, industry suppliers, event planners, tour companies, tourism industry officials, etc.
Professionally represent the hotel at various industry tradeshows, conferences, and adhere to the guidelines of the budget and marketing plan.
Support the Senior Sales Manager in preparing the department budget as well as the hotel’s overall sales goals and strategy.
Target, solicit and acquire new accounts in assigned group segments.
Conduct outside sales calls, telephone solicitation and site inspections to build relationships, assertively targeting new business and grow existing accounts.
Meet clients on/off-site
Create and maintain a strategic sales & marketing plan and SMART Action plan to generate top line revenue to meet or exceed annual budget expectations.
Identify new business leads.
Respond to request for proposals (RFP’s) in timely manner.
Provide sales reports as required by the company.
Maintain accurate and timely sales activity logs in the company’s SFA database
Conduct ongoing competitive analysis and maintain up-to-date files of competitors’ activities, prices, brochures, sales kits, etc.
Participate in site inspections, FAMs, trade shows, sales trips, hosted events, and community initiatives as required.
Liaise with partners and consumer marketing to coordinate co-op advertising and marketing program opportunities.
Plan new programs to increase business and profits.
Other duties as assigned by Senior Sales Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience Required
Previous sales manager experience, minimum of two years, in a similar setting is required
Diploma/degree in a related field is an asset
Knowledge of Salesforce Platforms and FOSSE PMS is an asset. However, not required.
Class 5 drivers license and an access to reliable transportation as ability to travel locally and inter-provincially is required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
May be required to work early morning, late evening, and weekend shifts
Ability to lift and carry objects up to 30 lbs.
