General Supervision
Ensure compliance to Company’s policies, practices and procedures.
Manage all material and logistics personnel. Recruit, train, coach, evaluate and develop team members
Maintaining a safe work environment to enforce health and safety policies and regulations in the workplace
Develop and demonstrate good communication practices and successful internal working professional relationships with staff
Consult and organize activities with other teams and departments
Motivating, organizing, team members.
Close communication with production, purchasing, parts, and sales teams
Shipping and Logistics
Manage outgoing shipments and incoming materials
Manage freight costs, ensure freight is shipped as cost effectively as possible.
Oversee the secure and accurate loading and unloading of deliveries, and the sorting and distribution of incoming and outgoing shipments.
Communications and negotiation with approved vendors for the most economical and efficient movement of freight
Timely preparation of Import/Export documentation for global shipments
Manage freight and export documentation -Must be familiar with customs documentation and requirements
Manage the timely scheduling of carriers to meet on time delivery to customers
Knowledge of road and rail transportation rules and regulations to ensure safe, secure, efficient, and
clean transportation of products. E.g weight distribution and height restrictions.
Ensure carrier compliance with company & customer policies & procedures for product transit or delivery
Responsible for the accuracy of all shipping related documentation. Manage any transport damage claims and related freight issues.
Manage direct shipments to customers as required.
Plan & implement improvements to internal or external logistics systems and processes
Materials Management
Overseeing the storage, as well as the shipping and receiving of goods
Responsible for accurate inventory numbers. Responsible for monthly reconciliation..
Ensure adherence to delivery standards, efficiencies and regulatory requirements
Managing warehouse and material handling processes
Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees.
Inventory Management, organization, and replenishment.
Manage the timely and accurate flow of all stock and non-stock material within Receiving, Shipping and warehouse
Responsible for organizing and controlling of inventory accuracy.
Manage the organization and supply of raw materials to each work center in a timely and efficient manner
Support optimum level and mix of raw materials and finished goods in warehouse
Responsible to support year-end physical inventory count and cycle counts in materials warehouses.
Timeliness, accuracy, and maintenance of ERP data and related documentation
Responsible for all assigned tasks relating to inventory control, including maintaining inventory accuracy, counts, communicating inventory stock outs etc.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Post-secondary education in related field such as materials management, warehousing and Logistics.
3-5 years of experience in a relevant supervisory role.
Intermediate level MS Office skills and Visibility (ERP System) skills & Microsoft Suite
Strong critical thinking ability with good problem identification and problem resolution skills
Good judgment and decision-making abilities
Demonstrated skills in planning and organizing
Reliable and dependable, with good time management, planning, prioritizing and execution skills, demonstrating attention to detail in all areas of work
Strong attention to detail, with ability to accurately complete required paperwork
Good organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
knowledge of all applicable health and safety and employment standards legislation,
Certification(s) in applicable material handling equipment is considered an assets.
