Responsibilities:
HR Business Partner – Canada

The HR Business Partner is responsible for providing end-to-end HR support to their aligned business function and its respective leaders/employees.
Additionally, as the single point of contact for HR in Canada, this role will also be responsible for the entire employee lifecycle, including but not limited to, new hire onboarding, benefits administration, leaves of absences, employee relations, office oversight, day to day employee inquiries, and payroll tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct weekly meetings with respective business unit management
Consult with line management on People topics, providing HR guidance when appropriate
Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies. Provide a point of view on emerging People topics
Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations, and identifies root cause and remediation steps as needed
Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with the legal department as needed/required
Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
Guide business leaders in the identification, assessment, and development of top performers
Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation, including interpretation and application of our Employee Handbook
Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning
Identify training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs, and partners with Talent Management on delivering on those needs. May be responsible for completing the training for their respective business groups
Participate in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met
Partner with employees and leaders to ensure an effective on-boarding process. This includes preparing a week 1 schedule for new leaders, recommending internal stakeholders to meet, etc. May participate in new hire orientation as a subject matter expert
Partner with Global Mobility, Benefits, Compensation, and Talent Acquisition partners in support of the business units you are aligned to. Collaborates with these partners to proactively address People needs and issues

Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Management, Human Resources, Organizational Psychology or related industry from an accredited college or university
In lieu of undergraduate degree, the ratio is 1:1 – meaning one year of college equals one year of work experience and vice versa
PHR/SPHR Certification preferred
Experience
Customarily has at least 4 years of Human Resources experience
Experience with US employment law and/or HR Business Partner support preferred
