About this opportunity
The incumbent will be part of the General Accounting team at TC Transcontinental’s head office and will work with a team of people ready to make their mark and innovate. The incumbent will report to the North American Payroll Director.
What you will do
- Perform weekly payroll entries for all pays processed for all sectors of Transcontinental, North America.
- Perform required period end accruals for salaried groups for all of Transcontinental, North America.
- Prepare all other related entries as needed for period end reporting.
- Analyze and reconcile monthly the general ledger accounts relating to payroll transactions including Pensions, 401K, Union Dues, Employee Deductions, Group Life, etc.
- Analyze and reconcile monthly the general ledgers accounts relating to accruals for vacation, bonuses, sick and any other accrued wages.
- Analyze and reconcile payroll cash accounts and bank statements for all sectors of Transcontinental.
- Prepare monthly reports for summary of account analysis as requested by Management.
- Ensure the updating of all documentation for 52-109 for any changes in procedures, policies, related to posting of payroll transactions.
- Attend meetings with Plant Controllers/Payroll Manager/Director of Payroll for visibility and to support any questions they have on payroll transactions.
- Support management in all audits, internal and external.
- All other related tasks concerning payroll transactions.
- Treasury Report for US Payroll.
- Mapping for Canada.
- Verifying Canada Payroll.
- 941 for tax department.
- Vacation analysis – Canada & U.S.
- Back up senior payroll accounting Canada.
What you offer

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in general accounting including payroll accounting
