Tesla Looking for Sr. Manufacturing Project Manager at Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada Full Time


What To Expect
We are looking for a highly motivated, “hands-on” individual to join our Manufacturing Team to oversee machining projects supporting the development of a new generation of high speed, automated manufacturing equipment. The role includes all facets of managing both the large network of manufacturing subcontractors and as well as all machining projects that are executed internally.

What You’ll Do

  • Monitor and follow up through the manufacturing project life including project/ initiation, scope defining, project execution, progress monitoring and controlling, as well as project closure
  • Create, manage, and lead project reviews, scope, schedules and budgets
  • Liaison between large cross functional teams and manage communications and ensure all stakeholders are aligned on key dates and escalate when necessary
  • Monitor, audit, report and expedite critical tasks to maintain overall project cost & schedules and report/resolve issues as they arise using a backend ERP system
  • Create manufacturing jobs by relying on a vast variety of technical knowledge including but not limited to CNC machining, wire EDM, metal fabrication, parts finishing including coating, heat treatment, material properties and material selection
  • Other responsibilities as required in support of the Tesla mission

    • What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (or equivalent majors in: Controls and Computer Control Systems, Mechatronic Engineering, Automation Engineering, etc.), or equivalent
  • PMP certification or equivalent
  • 5+ years of Project Management and Manufacturing experience in a relatable field
  • Experience working with and processing Mechanical Bills of Materials.
  • Excellent computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Tools, ERP systems, AutoCAD, engineering drawing interpretation, GD&T, Tooling and Cutting Tools, & Solidworks
  • Ability to travel locally
