Junior School Learning Resource Teacher

An exciting opportunity exists at The Country Day School (CDS) to join our Junior School faculty in the role of Junior School Learning Resource Teacher. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated work experience in a Learning Support/Resource program. Demonstrated confidence and impeccable integrity with the proven ability to maintain confidentiality is essential. This full-time position requires a completion of Special Education level 1/2. Independent school experience will be considered an asset.
Responsibilities Associated With This Position Include
Assisting and supporting students in a variety of their core subject classrooms. This would include helping the classroom teacher with differentiation and developing appropriate learning strategies for individuals and small groups of students.
Support of students with learning exceptionalities.
Initiating in-class plans for accommodations and interventions for those students with formal educational assessments.
Attending regular grade meetings with faculty and administrators to monitor student progress.
Educating faculty on learning differences and best practices in instruction and assessment.
Supporting and educating parents in their role as supports and advocates for their children.
Helping students to learn and use assistive technologies effectively.
