Restaurant General Manager

Reporting directly to the property GM/Director of Operations, our Restaurant General Manager is responsible for the operation of The Grill, an oceanside restaurant at the Quarterdeck Resort. This GM role is responsible for the supervision and management of all food & beverage operations including, full restaurant w/deck & mezzanine, bar area, takeout orders, and the event space.

Duties and Responsibilities
· Project annual budgets for all areas of the department.
· Maximize the scaling of labour based on resort and restaurant requirements including seasons.
· Meet or exceed the annual Restaurant revenue target and maximize the Food & Beverage profit. Plan goals by properly marketing the product and by managing expenses, labour and other material resources.
· Effective and timely interaction with all departments, key relationships with the Front Office & Sales/Marketing & Events. Attend meetings as required.
· Liaise with the Kitchen Manager in evaluating menus ensuring proper costing of menu items and customer satisfaction.
· Directly influence the future effectiveness of the Restaurant through involvement in the recruitment, hiring, training and motivation of all front-line food and beverage employees.
· Lead employees by personal example with a philosophy of work conduct and personal development that leads to maximum performance and job satisfaction.
· Ensure that all front-line food & beverage employees are well trained, maintain professional standards of appearance and serve their customers in a prompt, professional, friendly manner.
· Coach, develop & manage the performance of the Restaurant leadership/supervisor team. Interact effectively with employees, clientele and the local community to ensure service requirements and market conditions are anticipated and understood.
· Ensure a safe work environment is always maintained and that all colleagues are committed to working safely.
· Effective and timely interaction with Payroll department regarding payroll (i.e. set up new hires, etc.).
· Host on the floor and expedite in the kitchen as business demands.
· This is a hands-on, customer facing role, with about 75% focus on daily operations and 25% administrative tasks.
· This role will involve serving on the floor during off peak days and managing the floor during peak days.
· Additional duties may be assigned to help meet guest needs.
· Represent The Quarterdeck Resort in such a manner as to enhance the reputation of the company.
