Role

The responsibilities, and qualifications for a Civil (Municipal) Engineer at RPM Indigenous Group involve leading and managing municipal engineering projects with a focus on design, sustainability, and respecting cultural and environmental values. This role requires in-depth knowledge of municipal infrastructure, environmental laws, soil management, and project management skills. The ideal candidate should have a degree in Civil Engineering, be proficient in engineering software, and have experience in project management. Responsibilities

• Designing, planning, and overseeing the construction for both private and public land development projects.
• Ensuring projects comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards related to environmental protection, public safety, and land use.
• Collaborating with government officials, contractors, and the public on project development and community impact.
• Be able to obtain the necessary approvals or permits as required for a project
• Conducting analyses and providing expert advice on urban development, and environmental issues.
• Managing project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful completion.

Qualifications

• Be able to practice and register with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
• Note that we will consider experienced engineers from other countries that require mentorship to complete their PEO application process.
• Degree in Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software for engineering design and drafting preferred.
• Proficiency in other modelling software required to prepare reports
• Solid Technical Writing Skills
• Have intimate knowledge on Excess Soil Management
• Relevant experience in civil engineering projects, including site inspections and construction oversight.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in diverse and multicultural environments.
• Commitment to environmental sustainability and respect for cultural and heritage values in project execution.
• Valid Drivers License
• Able to clear a background check for security clearance requirements.
