Job Summary
The Organizational Development and Engagement Specialist partners with the Director of HR, Faculty of Arts, to design, develop and manage the implementation of organizational development and engagement initiatives in alignment with the Faculty’s and University’s strategic plan and unit level strategic and business plans. This role also provides advice and recommendations on a broad range of training and change management initiatives in the Faculty of Arts.
Organizational Status
Reports to the Director of HR, Faculty of Arts and works collaboratively with the Arts HR team. Works collaboratively and develops partnerships with FoA Departments, Schools, Institutes, Cultural Venues, Student and Administrative Services and programs and various departments within UBC, including Workplace Learning and Engagement and Advisory Services.
Work Performed
Consequence of Error/Judgement
Failure to perform duties effectively would cause significant loss of credibility and support from program participants, managers and senior leadership. Errors in judgement in determining resources and techniques needed could result in high costs to the unit, would affect the quality and success of the projects, and credibility of programs that have both strategic and operational impact.
Supervision Received
Reports to the Director of HR, Faculty of Arts. Works independently with a high degree of latitude and is expected to exercise discretionary judgement and tact.
Supervision Given
No direct reports. Assigns work as appropriate to support staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline. Minimum of four to five years of related work experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
