Job Summary
The Stigma and Resilience Among Vulnerable Youth Centre (SARAVYC) is a CIHR-funded team of researchers and community partners who seek to understand the influences of stigma on health disparities affecting vulnerable youth, such as 2SLGBTQ+, sexually exploited, and street involved youth. This is a full-time research assistant position to work on variety of tasks related to research about 2SLGBTQ+ young people’s health and well-being
Organizational Status
The Stigma and Resilience among Vulnerable Youth Centre (SARAVYC) is a research centre within UBC’s School of Nursing. The team is made up of researchers and community partners advancing research to improve the lives of 2SLGBTQ+ and other marginalized youth. The successful candidate will have a background in research and join a productive multi-disciplinary, mixed-methods research group with a strong commitment to applied research that influences policy, practice, and health.
Work Performed
The candidate will work under the direction of the Executive Director, Managing Director and Post-Doctoral Fellows to undertake the following tasks:

(website content, social media, newsletters, posters, proof reading reports and manuscripts, etc.)
Consequence of Error/Judgement
The candidate must possess understanding of conducting literature reviews, drafting reports, and conducting data analysis, and strong writing skills. Failure to maintain attention to detail and conduct work in this context will jeopardize the quality of the research.

The Principal Investigator Dr. Elizabeth Saewyc, post-doctoral fellows, as well as the Centre’s Managing Director will provide supervision

Minimum Qualifications
Completion of a relevant technical program or a university degree in a relevant discipline and a minimum three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
