The Department of Continuing Education is currently seeking a Recurring Part-time Administrative & Financial Assistant.
The University of Calgary Continuing Education houses one of Canada’s largest and most successful continuing education departments. It is a multi-disciplinary unit offering diploma, certificate and non-degree programs using on-site and online technologies for course delivery.
The Administrative & Financial Assistant reports to the Director of Business Operations and supports the accounting team in daily operations that follow the financial requirements of the department and the institution. This is a recurring part-time position. Average hours of work per week are between 15 and 20, which may increase or decrease, dependent on business cycles.
The Administrative and Financial Assistant works with a dynamic, interdisciplinary team of professionals dedicated to the educational needs and goals of the students who participate in courses and programs of study. The incumbent works within the University of Calgary framework of policies and procedures, taking direction and guidance from senior financial analysts within the Accounting team. Demonstration of good judgment and decision-making, adhering to procedures and policies that require high attention to detail, are key requirements of this position. Communication with staff can be frequent, requiring professionalism and a strong service-orientated mindset.
