Job Summary
The Logistics Coordinator will work to provide various levels of support to dispatch requirements. This role will facilitate and monitor for effective communication, both internally with the sales team and directly with carriers based on shipping requirements. They will collaborate with various departments to ensure that all contractual requirements are reviewed, acknowledged, and supported.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Build and track freight loads (FTL and LTL) in the Company’s Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Manage daily shipment activities, resolving issues to ensure pickup and delivery are on time.
- Schedule pick-up and delivery appointments for customer orders
- Communicate regularly with truckers and carriers to build long-term, trusted partnerships.
- Negotiate pricing and prepare quotes for clients.
- Maximize brokerage coverage by developing and maintaining excellent relationships with our clients and suppliers.
- Complete Routings with all the appropriate documents to provide to our clients.
- Knowledge of rules and regulations for over-the-road and shipments moving internationally.
Job Requirements
- Successful completion of post-secondary studies
- Ability to be flexible and work extended hours as required.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office Software (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
