Student By-Law Enforcement Officer
Contract, Full-Time, Non-Union

An hourly rate of pay of: $15.75 – $16.25 – $16.75, based on relevant experience, plus:

What You Will Do:
Gain valuable knowledge about a career in law enforcement while you learn about the role and responsibility of By-Law Enforcement in a municipal setting.
Hone your interpersonal and leadership skills in a team environment.
Working in a supportive team environment, develop your skills in identifying, investigating and reporting offences while supporting enforcement of Town by-laws.
Participate in responding to complaints and enforcing compliance with by-laws related to parking, dog control, burning, business licensing and noise.
Provide education and awareness of the Town’s by-laws to members of the public. Perfect your research skills and provide input and recommendations, and provide evidence in Court in support of charges laid.
This position reports to the Chief By-Law Enforcement Officer or designate and is expected to start May 2, 2022 and end September 2, 2022. JOB OPPORTUNITY Corporate Services Department We are looking for a team player who is enthusiastic, customer service focused and who has the following:
Enrollment in post-secondary program or courses related to law enforcement.
Prior work experience in a law enforcement setting is considered an asset.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with members of the public, coworkers and others in a friendly, courteous and effective manner.
Comfort and confidence in dealing with and deescalating difficult situations.
Ability to work independently and as part of the team.
Ability to provide an acceptable vulnerable sector police check.
Experience with, or willingness to learn, relevant safety legislation.
Pleasure Craft Operator Card is considered an asset.
The ability to work shifts as scheduled, including day, evening and weekend shifts is required.
Valid class “G” Ontario Driver’s license and Drivers Abstract, in good standing and a reliable vehicle to use on corporate business.
The Town of Bracebridge COVID-19 Proof of Vaccination Policy requires all employees to provide proof they are fully vaccinated, as defined by the Ministry of Health; or provide a valid medical or human rights grounds based exemption and undergo regular rapid antigen testing; or participate in a vaccination education program and undergo regular rapid antigen testing.
