We are looking for an Underwriter to join our team in our Laval office!
As an Underwriter, you will be responsible of developing and growing business by writing new business, managing a renewal portfolio and bringing existing products across Canada while maintaining profitability, and delivering exceptional response time.

Your Day as an Underwriter
Underwrite basic to moderately complex books of commercial P&C products, coverage, pricing, production and delivery, risk management and managing local brokerage plans.
Evaluate risks and make underwriting decisions based on company guidelines, risk appetite, and pricing strategies.
Develop and maintain relationships with broker and clients, providing exceptional customer service and delivering value-added solutions.
Manage the submission, quoting, and binding processes for new and renewal business, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness.
Collaborate with other underwriters, brokers, and internal teams to drive profitable growth and achieve assigned monthly sales goals.
Negotiate policy terms and conditions with brokers and clients, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Analyze data and trends to identify new business opportunities and develop marketing strategies to attract new business.
Our Ideal Candidate:
3 to 5 years of experience in P&C underwriting, with a focus on commercial lines and preferably with an MGA.
Strong technical knowledge of P&C insurance products and services, with an ability to apply this knowledge in a creative and innovative manner.
Proven record of accomplishment of underwriting profitability and growth targets.
Bilingual with strong verbal and written communication skills in French and in English.
Good knowledge of the MS Office Suite;
Proficiency in data analysis and Excel. Experience in data visualization tools; an asset.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to think strategically and translate insights into action.
Effective time management and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail and precise.
