Tutors Unlimited was founded in 1989 and has helped over 10,000 students to succeed academically. Headquartered in St. John’s, we have grown to cover all of Canada with our unique approach to 1-on-1 tutoring, utilizing top tutors from across the country. We have helped students from over 60 colleges and universities from Victoria to St. John’s, as well as students located in many other countries.
Our tutors come from universities across Canada, and range from recent graduates to Ph.D.’s, with up to 35 years of experience.
Our success can be attributed to the fact that we provide the best tutors at the lowest possible rates, combined with our flexibility, our wide range of subject areas and outstanding customer service.

Our Needs
We are the fastest growing tutorial company in Canada. We are looking for 1-on-1 tutors for the following subjects and levels for in-home service in the St. John’s area
Primary/Elementary – All subjects
Junior High – All subjects
Senior High – Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, French, English
College/University:
Sciences – Statistics, Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Computer Sciences, Psychology, Economics
Engineering – Math, Statics, Dynamics, Mechanics of Solids, Structural Analysis, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics, Mechatronics, Surveying, Electrical Circuits, Computer Programming and Hardware, Graphics
Business – Accounting, Decision Analysis, Operations Management, Finance, Business Law
Nursing and Health Sciences – Nursing, Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacy, Psychology
Arts and Languages – French, English, Folklore, Political Science, Sociology, Criminology
The amount of work will vary from week to week and term to term. Our current tutors average about 10 hours per week, but some subject areas may receive less while other tutors perform 20-30+ hours per week. Compensation will be either $21 or $24 per hour (contractual), depending on tutoring/teaching experience.
Due to time constraints, only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
REQUIREMENTS
Academic – Candidates mustpossess at least a Bachelor’s degree in one of the above subject areas.
Experience – Candidates should have at least one year of tutoring or instructional experience.
Communications – We require our tutors to have outstanding teaching ability and communications skills, including a high proficiency in the English language.
Professionalism – We expect our tutors to conduct themselves in a highly professional manner. They must be organized, punctual, efficient and reliable, as well as friendly, personable, helpful and confident.
