Job Description
UAP’s Logistics Projects and Innovations Department is looking for a Project Manager. Reporting to the Department Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of major logistics projects (modernization, technologies, processes) for our warehouses and stores of our three divisions.
The primary objective of this position is to develop, plan, lead and execute cross-functional initiatives that will advance the organization’s performance/productivity, network efficiency and customer service levels. Strategic thinking and the development of recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative data are essential in order to generate optimal results for customers and the various departments of the company. The candidate will also have a strong expertise in a distribution environment, either in continuous improvement project management or in system implementation.
Qualifications
To join our team, you need:
Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, or other relevant field;
A minimum of seven years of relevant distribution experience in the delivery of logistics projects and implementations including
Network modeling and simulation
Network optimization
Improvement and upgrade of transportation network
Feasibility studies
Creation of new projects/business plans;
Very good knowledge of warehouse systems including
Warehouse Management System
Labour Management
Slotting Optimization;
Ability to create alignment through an inclusive approach and build strong relationships across the organization;
Be a strategic thinking partner to turn ideas into action;
Possess PMP certification (major asset);
Excellent knowledge of the Office Suite (particularly Excel and Word, knowledge of Access is an asset);
Knowledge of the automotive industry (an asset);
Bilingualism (oral and written);
Willing to travel the equivalent of one week per month;
Must be available on call on a rotational basis.
