YOUR ROLE
As the VP of Finance & Operations, you will be part of the Senior Management team and play a vital role in the growth of the company. This role will have a seat at the table and actively communicate with Senior Management and the Board of Directors. This is an exciting opportunity for a person looking to make the next step in their Financial career.
WHAT TO EXPECT
First 30 Days
● Full review of current accounting process
● One on one meeting with Senior Management team
● Review of Balance Sheet and reconciliations
● Review of first year audit for 2022 year end to familiarise yourself with accounting practices
First 60 Days
● Review and recommendation on current accounting systems
● Provide a quarterly summary of the most recent quarterly performance of the business to senior management
First 90 Days
● Meet with other managers at Unilogik to learn what other processes are in place for forecasting and client data and make recommendations on how best to integrate this information with the financial data systems
YOUR ROLE
General:
● Manage financial statements Preparation.
● Work with the Senior Management team to improve the finance and administration functions.
● Identify opportunities for improvement in reporting, collections, payment cycles, payroll, etc.
● Oversee the Payroll and Benefits process
● Work with other Unilogik team members to integrate CRM and other client data with financial data to better understand correlations
Reporting:
● Manage the monthly close process under the roles’ responsibility
● Prepare the monthly reporting package and quarterly board decks
● Continue to expand/improve KPIs and metrics (financial, operational, and sales related), and ensure they are actionable.
● Prepare annual budgets/forecasts.
● Ensure IFRS reporting and ability to pass the annual audit.
External Reporting:
● Manage the annual audit process.
● Manage tax and SRED claims.
● Manage compliance filings, as necessary.
● Capex – Prepare business cases for capital expenditures and investments, and return on investment.
● Cost management and containment across the organization.
Operational Accounting
● Cash flows – Review 13-week cash flow and assist in the analysis of cash flows with the CEO.
● Payroll – Review payroll for accuracy and assist with making improvements.
● Policy development and administration.
● Process and Controls assessment, documentation, and improvement.
THIS IS YOU
● CPA Designation
● BS in Accounting or Finance
● Software as a service, monitoring as a service, recurring revenue, and/or project revenue experience preferred
● ERP experience, particularly implementations highly desired
● Comfortable under Private Equity ownership
● Strong background in continuous improvement methods/tools/KPIs
● Robust excel skills
● You are tech savvy and can use the designated software at an advanced level.
