Job Summary:
The School of Business invites applications for a Permanent Faculty member. The successful candidate will be expected to teach lower-level courses (Introduction to Organizational Behaviour, Introduction to Human Resource Management, etc.), and specialized upper-level courses, including Organizational Theory and Industrial Relations.

The School of Business develops individuals to achieve leadership, management, global citizenship, and employability potential through business-relevant, research-informed education. The School offers degree, diploma, and certificate programs. Its Bachelor of Business Administration program is internationally recognized as one of the best business programs and accredited by EFMD.

Additionally, as a teaching-oriented institution, we are seeking a collegial, energetic and innovative individual who has successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level and who communicates effectively with students both in and out of the classroom; is able to instruct across a range of the undergraduate courses offered by the department; and can develop new and innovative courses.

Applicants must have exceptional communication and teaching skills, and demonstrable ability to develop experiential and applied research opportunities for students. An ability to teach across traditional disciplinary boundaries would be an asset. The successful applicant must be able to incorporate or reflect Indigenous perspectives or ways of teaching and learning into their curriculum.

Experience and interest in developing experiential learning opportunities, including internships, study abroad and co-curricular activities is highly desirable. Demonstrable experience in technology-supported teaching (e.g. hybrid, online, experiential, and computer-assisted learning) would be an asset. The successful candidate will show aptitude for working in team situations and an interest in innovative inter-disciplinary teaching.

Applicants will have a strong record of research productivity commensurate with their experience; demonstrated ability to establish a successful research program; and an ability to incorporate their research into applied and experiential learning opportunities for students. The successful applicant will be expected to develop innovative and internationally recognized research programs and to obtain external funding. The successful applicant will be expected to actively participate in departmental activities and service, initiatives, as well as contribute to academic leadership. A commitment to an ongoing program of professional development is required.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a PhD or DBA in Organizational Behaviour/Studies or Industrial Relations or a closely related field from a recognized Canadian, AACSB or EQUIS accredited institution (which must be clearly mentioned in the cover letter), or solid indication of imminent completion. Applicants with a relevant Master’s degree from institutions with aforementioned recognition/accreditation and at least five years of industry experience related to the position might be considered.

Experience in teaching upper-level Organizational Theory and/or Industrial Relations courses is required (and must be clearly indicated in the cover letter).

A CPHR designation is considered an asset.
