By providing leadership on international initiatives, the Office develops and maintains key international partnerships.

Your Opportunity
Under the general direction of the Program Manager, International Relations (Africa), the Regional Lead (Africa) independently provides strategic research and analysis of a wide range of issues/trends in higher education and institutional-specific research in Africa. The incumbent focuses on the University of Toronto’s international profile and international linkages, providing marketing and communication materials to audiences within the University and to outside partners; conducts thorough reviews and analyses of international partnerships as they relate to the University’s provincial and federal government priorities, in support of the development and implementation of the University of Toronto’s Africa strategy and partnerships in Africa. The incumbent is also responsible for providing logistical support for incoming and outgoing delegations; with an understanding of protocols, greets and accompanies members of incoming delegations.
The incumbent is expected to develop a specialized and detailed understanding in Africa higher education trends, funding opportunities for Africa collaboration and mobility schemes, and maintain the University of Toronto’s international profile. The incumbent independently liaises with counterparts and senior members in the Office of the President, Vice-Presidents’ Offices and divisional leaders across three campuses, as well as all relevant international offices, to understand and consolidate international activities related to the University. The Regional Lead (Africa) must exercise considerable interpersonal sensitivity and diplomacy in building and maintaining relationships across the institution. The incumbent will assist with projects on a wide variety of issues and topics related to the international priorities that flow from work and decisions made by the President, Vice-President and Vice-Presidential committees.

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone
USW Pay Band 13 — $83,150 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $106,336. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
