Accounts Assistant

Job Summary:

Uptown Eye Specialists is looking for a skilled Account Assistant to maintain our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.

This position creates financial transactions for accounts payable and receivable and generates reports from that information. The creation of financial transactions includes posting information to QuickBooks from such source documents as invoices to customers, cash receipts, supplier invoices and third-party billing from clinic EMR(OSCAR). This role also reconciles accounts to ensure their accuracy.

Ultimately, the Person responsibilities are to accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions of our company.

Job description:

· Handle accounts payable and receivable reports and invoices of assigned facilities.

· Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process.

· Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct daybook, suppliers’ ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger.

· Assist in the coordination of operational logistics & inventory management

· Enter data, maintain records, and create reports and financial statements.

· Perform monthly bank reconciliations, account reconciliations of all facilities and other duties as required.

· Perform end-of-day updates on the POS system and report issues to team leader.

· Assist other departments with accounts inquiries

· Handle PO’s, delivery notes, invoices for payment and record keeping on system.

· Assist team lead in inventory and asset management process and their audit.

· Responsible to evaluate supplier, products, and services.

· Strong follow up and negotiation with vendors and suppliers to ensure purchases are cost efficient and of high quality.

Job Specifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.

· 3+ years of experience in financial management.

· Experience in OHIP billing will be preferred

· Experience in QuickBooks is an asset.

· Excellent computer skills.

· Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

· Willing to travel or relocate

Experience:

· Accounts & related fields: 2 years (required)

· QuickBooks: 1 year (required)

Note: This job is based on Scarborough location but may require relocation to other branches or work on multiple branches in a week. The relocation and travel to other branches will not be compensated separately.
