Due to the retirement plans of the existing Controller, Valid has a unique opportunity for someone to join the Valid Leadership team. Working closely with the existing Controller this role will provide oversight of the finance and administrative functions for the company.

Specifically, the controller is responsible for:

• Develops, implements, and monitors financial systems, controls and procedures.
• Provides senior level financial expertise across the company providing financial analysis and support to sales, estimating, engineering and production.
• Contributing to a healthy workplace and modelling integrity, collaboration and respect.
• Leading the accounting team in the completion of day-to-day work.
• Developing strong partnerships with internal and external contacts to maximize the effectiveness of those relationships.

This position requires:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business.
• Demonstrated experience as a senior member of an accounting or finance team.
• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, or progress towards completion is preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing using an ERP/MRP system would be an asset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with expertise in Excel.
• Above average communication, critical thinking and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to continuous improvement;
• Demonstrated strengths in building trusting relationships;

This is an excellent opportunity to assume to the role of Controller with the support and guidance of the current Controller. The right candidate has a strong handle of core accounting functions, as well as an aptitude to learn about and support other areas of the company.
