Reporting to and in partnership with the Development Manager, the lead will support development efforts as Venture for Canada continues to grow. A new position in the organization, the Development Lead will have the opportunity to contribute to the development function.

The Development Lead will implement strategies created by the Development Manager and act as the engine to furthering VFC’s fundraising and government relations efforts. You’ll support grant writing, philanthropic outreach and stakeholder relations.

• You have an understanding of the provincial and federal government and how it supports the charitable sector
• Prior fundraising, communications or government relations experience is a strong asset
• French is not required but an asset

Responsibilities

• Research and identify prospective funding sources
• Draft and write grants and funding applications to support VFC’s programming
• Identify and manage opportunities for VFC to participate in ecosystem and public sector engagements and events
• Professionally and empathetically build relationships and communication best practices with all stakeholders
• Support the organization of special events for donors and stakeholders
• Support the implementation of a stewardship program aimed at cultivating deeper ties with donors and government contacts.

Venture for Canada is committed to providing equal pay for equal work with salaries in line with industry standards. The salary for this position is $58,000-$62,000.
