Warehouse Transport Group Inc (WTG) is seeking an experienced Logistic Coordinator who specializes in the world of supply-chain and freight forwarding. This isn’t your everyday job or your everyday company!

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
– Coordinate Import and Export shipments
– Read, monitor and respond promptly to all incoming communications (customers, carriers and staff members)
– Quote with carriers (shipping lines (ocean and air), truckers, customs brokers)
– File shipping instructions and VGM with shipping lines
– Prepare and submit B13s as required
– File amendments to BLs as required
– Verify BLs and get appropriate approvals before relaying information to customer and/or their consignees
– Coordinate with customers and carriers ideal/possible loading and unloading dates and times (sometimes on appointment basis)
– Conformity verification of all documentation at time of shipment preparation
– Track shipments and keep customer informed of their progress accordingly
– In some cases, obtain PODs from carriers and check for abnormalities
– File and follow-up on claims with carriers as needed
– Support Sales team with quotes from carriers and thinking of alternative solutions that will fulfill the customers’ needs
– Develop new carriers (open account with shipping lines, inland carriers etc) and maintain good relations with existing carriers
– Create new loads in our system, as well as keep it up-to-date (this is an absolute must!)
– Assist Accounting Dept with payments and receivables (checking and confirming accuracy of rates)
– Understand customer complaints and implement measures to prevent their frequency and recurrence
– Help solve internal and operation problems to prevent service deficiencies and/or customer dissatisfaction
– As required, improve on an ongoing basis internal systems and procedures in order to favour customer service and departmental efficiency
– Provide information and advice concerning the relevant laws and regulations pertaining to importing and exporting of goods from/to Canada
– Follow department procedures
– Other duties as assigned
