Wayfair Looking for Software Engineer – Advertising Engineering at Toronto, ON Full Time

The Advertising team works with our supplier community creating end to end solutions that help increase their sales and exposure on Wayfair sites and apps through targeted ads and sponsorships. Not only are we generating millions in extra revenue for suppliers and solidifying Wayfair as a preferred partner, but we’ve built a significant business that’s one of the highest growth areas in the company.

What You’ll Do

As a Senior Software Engineer you will actively work alongside other engineers to work on highly technical projects and deliver high quality contributions to the codebase

Use Java/php/GraphQL to design API to consume/produce data and build backend applications to power wayfair advertising platforms.

Use Javascript/React to design and build frontend applications leveraged by a wide variety of stakeholders across Wayfair

Use Kafka/aerospike/Elasticsearch for building a real-time data pipeline as a backbone for the entire Advertising team.

Provide superior monitoring visibility to technical and operational health of the platform using DataDog/Grafana

Hone your technical leadership skills as you help grow engineers on your team to develop the next generation of Wayfair engineering

Provide high quality reviews, for both code and technical designs

Use ecommerce business knowledge to convert the product requirements into a technical solution

What You’ll Need

Extensive experience as a full stack engineer.

Expertise with a modern programming language (such as Python, Java, Rust, JavaScript, PHP, or others)

Experience in Big Data technologies/frameworks like Apache Kafka/Apache spark/Nosql databases

Preferred experience in the CI/CD tools/platforms like Buildkite/Docker/Kubernetes.

Experience in system monitoring using tools like Grafana/DataDog etc.

Experience in development and technical design of frontend applications from start to finish

Experience and deep understanding of atomic design (reusable components)

B.S. or equivalent experience in computer science/related field
