Support To: VP of Mfg. and VP of Sales
The Human Resource Generalist will work from Westeck Windows head office and provide support to all company departments. This person will manage the administration of all human resource and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
Job Duties:
Writing and placing employment adds.
Working with Modified duties program
Liaison with WorkSafeBC in regard to workplace claims
Ensure company is inline with WorkSafeBC regulations
Develop safety training programs
Ensure employees are trained in safety programs
Oversee JHSC for all plants
Work with Supervisors, Managers to ensure compliance of safety policy’s
Perform phone screens
Co-interview or Interview applicants about their experience, education, and skills.
Contact references and perform background checks.
Inform applicants about job details such as benefits and conditions.
Hire or refer qualified candidates.
Conduct new employee orientations.
Support foreman with the processing of paperwork, such as payroll time sheets, wage adjustments and vacation requests.
Advise Plan and coordinate the workforce to best use employees’ talents.
Resolve issues between management and employees.
Advise managers on policies like equal employment opportunity, sexual harassment, and employment law.
Oversee recruitment and hiring process.
Analyze and report on a departmental level, retention, and employee satisfaction.
Support disciplinary procedures via acting manager.
Promote culture characterized as supportive, safe and of continuous improvement.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors
Works in office setting
Works under moderate supervision
Frequently types and writes on computer and uses phone. Occasionally moves about to coordinate work
Occasionally travels to other offices via car
Qualifications and Skills
2 years’ experience in human resources
Preferred bachelor’s degree and or HR designation/certification
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Good organizational skills required
Strong knowledge of Manufacturing Safety
