Since 1878, Western University has been committed to serving our communities through the pursuit of academic excellence and by providing students, faculty, and community members with life-long opportunities for intellectual, social, and cultural growth. We seek excellent students, faculty, and staff to join us in what has become known as the “Western Experience” – an opportunity to contribute to a better world through the development of new knowledge, new abilities, new connections, and new ways to make a difference.
Student Experience (SE) fosters equitable learning environments in which all students can thrive to their full potential. Through our commitment to integrating research, theory, and practice across all of the programs, resources, and supports we provide, Student Experience leads an ecosystem of people, places, and spaces that empower student thriving. Our vision is for all Mustangs to discover their personalized pathway through Western’s rich, holistic learning environment; engage in brave conversations with our diverse community on and off campus, and develop the courage to be uncomfortable without fear of failure in order to thrive throughout their degree and after graduation.
The Coordinator, Student Experience & Engagement designs, develops, implements and evaluates programs that meet the continually changing needs of Western’s students, with a focus on increasing their involvement, engagement, retention, and development. The role will cultivate environments where students can thrive during their transition to the university and throughout their time at Western, through the development and execution of accessible and inclusive programming. The Coordinator will support the development and execution of campus-wide initiatives, which assist academic and social transitions, support the creation of thriving communities, and enhance student experiences and success. In addition, the role will coordinate the administrative and logistical functions of the various programs, participate in the development of marketing materials, and identify and act on opportunities to increase awareness of programming
The University invites applications from all qualified individuals. Western is committed to employment equity and diversity in the workplace and welcomes applications from women, members of racialized groups/visible minorities, Indigenous persons, persons with disabilities, persons of any sexual orientation, and persons of any gender identity or gender expression.
Accommodations are available for applicants with disabilities throughout the recruitment process. If you require accommodations for interviews or other meetings, please contact Human Resources at [email protected] or phone 519-661-2194.
We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those chosen for an interview will be contacted.
