Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Provincial Lead, Health Workforce, the Chief Wellness Officer will develop, lead and coordinate wellness and workforce belonging initiatives across the province with the goal of improving the physical, mental and emotional health and well-being of all employees. They will steward the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) strategy including developing and implementing strategic and systems level solutions and training to address complex equity, diversity and inclusion challenges ensuring the provision of a high standard of advice, support and delivery across the system on EDI matters.
This role leads several wellness initiatives in healthcare such as Disrupting Racism strategy and Reducing Administrative Burden for Doctor’s in Manitoba. Participation in these initiatives will require the ability to identify opportunities, create policy and training, offer experienced based solutions and gain stakeholder interest and buy-in.
The Chief Wellness Officer is responsible for the development and oversight of the execution of a strategy to address wellness challenges and opportunities and will work in partnership with other operational leaders to improve well-being primarily focusing on improving the work environment and culture.
