Position Overview
The Director, Human Resources is responsible for the provision of a comprehensive Human Resource service through the WRHA integrated Human Resource Department. Specific functions managed include HR Consultant, HR Assistant, Staffing Office, Labor & Employee Relations, ESP Systems Administrator, Volunteer Services. Liaison to: HR Shared Services, HR Shared Health HR & Legal, and OESH.
The overall responsibilities encompass the domains of leadership, strategic planning, advocacy resource management, education and research, policy development, program planning, patient safety and quality improvement and employee engagement.
As a member of the Executive Team, the Director, Human Resources participates in corporate strategic planning, policy setting, identification of emerging trends and issues, management of health care issues, and participation on various councils, committees, teams, working groups and senior management rotating on call.
SOGH Hospital is a participant in the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) and as such is accountable to operate the institution in line with the Operating Agreement. The Director, Human Resources will ensure cooperation with the WRHA and co-ordinate healthcare delivery within the parameters approved by the WRHA.
