The Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill 11 Teacher positions. These positions are based out of Copper Lake / Lincoln Hills Schools in Irma, WI. These positions will not be remote work. Our teachers work 12 months of the year.

These positions provide, to assigned students, instructional and educational services including assessing students for need, selection, and provision of appropriate instructional resources, providing guided and independent practice, evaluation of progress, and appropriate remediation. Services also include maintenance of records and reporting student data as required.
The starting pay rate of $28.55 per hour, plus excellent benefits. Pay on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the compensation plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code.
The pay schedule/range is 13-04.
A 12-month probationary period may be required.
There is a current $3.00 add on pay for all worked hours.
Candidates with no prior permanent employment with the State of Wisconsin in the past 5 years may be eligible to accept a sign-on bonus of $2,000. The sign-on bonus will be paid in two installments: $1000 on the first paycheck and $1000 with the paycheck for the pay period in which the employee attains permanent status (usually 1 year).
To receive the bonus, a candidate must sign an agreement indicating they will remain in that position for a year. If the candidate leaves their position prior to completing the one year, they may be required to reimburse the initial payment.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

Copper Lake / Lincoln Hills Schools is hiring Math, Reading, Special Education, English, Social Studies and Health & Physical Education teachers. Minimally qualified applicants must possess one of the below qualifications to be eligible.
Math – currently possess certification or have the ability to obtain certification as a Teacher in one of the following: #1400 Math; #1801 Cross-Categorical Special Education; #1310 Cognitive Disabilities; #1811 Learning Disabilities; OR #1830 Emotional Behavioral Disabilities in grade levels: 7-12, PreK-12, 6-12 or 9-12 by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
Reading – possess certification or the ability to obtain certification by the time of appointment as a Teacher in one of the following: #1316 Reading Teacher; #5017 Reading Specialist; #1801 Cross-categorical Special Education; #1310 Cognitive Disabilities; #1811 Learning Disabilities; #1830 Emotional Behavioral Disabilities OR #1952 Alternative Education (grade levels: 7-12, prek-12, 6-12 or 9-12) by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
Special Education – Certification as a Teacher (grade levels: 7-12, prek-12, 6-12 or 9-12) by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and certification in one of the following: #1316 Reading Teacher, #1801 Cross-Categorical Special Education; #1810 Cognitive Disabilities; #1811 Learning Disabilities; or #1830 Emotion/Behavioral Disabilities.

Social Studies – Certification as a Teacher (grade levels: 7-12, prek-12, 6-12 or 9-12) by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and certification in #701 Broadfield Social Studies.
Health & Physical ED – Certification as a Teacher (grade levels: 7-12, prek-12, 6-12 or 9-12) by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and certification in Health and Physical Education.
