Our Survey Team is seeking an individual with a flexible schedule to work with our team on multiple civil construction projects throughout British Columbia. The right candidate will have the training and confidence to support the construction team in earthworks, concrete structures, and pipelines.
A Surveyor’s first responsibility is to perform duties in a safe and effective manner at all times on the job site. You must have neat handwriting for recording field data, be able to interpret construction drawings and perform on the spot field calculations for layout, build complex templates from road alignments, have strong mathematical skills, and attention to detail.
As Surveyor you will perform in field layout and calculations, carry out topographical surveys, work off GPS set ups and third part control networks, work with Total Station and GNSS survey gear, and establish new control in remote locations. A thorough understanding of Trimble GNSS and Robotic equipment is mandatory. This position requires a rotation of 2 weeks on site and 1 week off or as project demands.
EXPECTATIONS
Field Surveyors interpret information derived from design IFC’s, drafters, and construction supervisors to accurately layout various construction components (both physical structures and earthworks) that aid in the construction process;
Document the accurate placement of structures and materials.
Must be highly skilled at using, Trimble total stations and GPS to facilitate accurate field layout and reporting.
Excellent observation and problem-solving skills are required in all aspects of the position.
Surveyors must have good reporting skills and be able to follow the expectations of not only the construction crews, when staking out field requirements, but of the Survey manager and drafters, who utilize their collected data for everything from reviewing and documenting the construction process to assessing construction conflicts.
Surveyors must also be physically fit and be comfortable with long days outside in all weather conditions.

Qualifications
Must have class 5 driver’s license
Minimum 2 Years In Field Construction Related Experience
Must be fluent with Trimble robotics and GPS systems
Experience on Highway construction projects is an asset
Experience with Machine Control Systems is an asset
Any exposure to AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center or other drafting platforms is an asset
