Warrior Kids Mental Health Program Administrative Assistant
Job Description

The Warrior Kids Program was created in 2019 to support children and youth with a parent who is either a first responder, military or veteran member impacted by a psychological injury such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Founders and directors, Dr Helena Hawryluk and Jerris Popik are looking for a positive and energetic individual to assist in supporting this unique national mental health program. This is a perfect opportunity for students in post-secondary education looking to gain experience in running mental health services across Canada to first responder and veteran families. This position is remote work from home with a requirement to be able to work some weekends and evenings. Also require a valid driver’s licence and access to a car in order to maintain office supplies, program supplies and attend Warrior Kids awareness events and camps throughout the year. Work hours are flexible but must be available regularly throughout Monday-Friday 9-4pm – between 10-15 hours per week. This position reports directly to Warrior Kids Program Director, Jerris Popik and responsive to both Dr Helena

Roles & Responsibilities

• Support program operations through regular update of registrations from virtual and in- person from Microsoft teams into excel and word documents.

• Maintain Warrior Kids Program registrations and keeping program directors updated on new registrations and parent or organization questions regarding registration.

• Send communication emails to parents for consent/intake forms.

• Manage and send recruitment emails to organizations to get registration for Virtual program and in-person camps.

• Complete regular inventory of program supplies for the virtual and camp programs which includes ordering supplies online and in person shopping of supplies.

• Maintain and organize new staff documents such as resume, record checks and any other HR documentation and communication with staff.

• Support the operations of the virtual warrior kids program buy sending reminder emails to participants for virtual group start times and links, setting up Zoom links for virtual groups, ensure documents are signed prior to program starting

• Help in building the Warrior Kids Kits for mail out across Canada.

• Occasionally attend events for promotion or awareness of WWC

Qualification and Skills

• Highschool or equivalent
• Two to three years in an office setting or working with Microsoft Office software
• Ideal candidate would have one to two years’ experience related to using Microsoft

Word, Excel, Teams, Zoom platforms and excellent written communication skills.

Compensation
This is an hourly position with a minimum of 10 hours per week. Hourly rate starts at $20.00 per hour. Gas mileage will be covered for completing special events and inventory purchases.
