Job Description WSP is one of the world’s leading professional services firms – made stronger with the recent creation of WSP E&I Canada Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of WSP Canada Inc. The Opportunity: We are looking for a Superintendent to join our Remediation team in Port Hope.
This opportunity is to join the WSP team responsible for the execution and construction of the Port Hope Area Initiative (PHAI). The PHAI represents the federal government’s response to the community-requested solution for the cleanup and local, long-term, safe management of historic low-level radioactive waste in the municipalities of Port Hope and Clarington.
Please note we will consider candidates based in various locations throughout Canada, but this opportunity is based at the project site in Port Hope, Ontario

A day in the life:
- Use your expertise to complete field surveys, write technical reports, collaborate with our many counterparts in all our different disciplines at WSP.
- Manage relationships with internal and external clients and ensuring that their needs are understood and met, providing your guidance and expertise.
- Ensure that the appropriate background research and analysis is completed in consultation with the appropriate government agencies.
- Conduct botanical field investigations including Ecological Land Classifications, targeted SAR surveys, SAR habitat assessments, as well as wetland and other feature delineations (having your OWES certification would be a huge asset!)
What You’ll Bring To WSP …
- Experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar role in the construction industry
- University Degree/Diploma in Engineering or Business Administration, or a combination of education and industry experience.
- You enjoy fieldwork and like to work autonomously – think the opposite of your standard 9-5 desk job!
- You’ve got access to a vehicle, a clean Driver’s Abstract, and you know your way around the MS Office suite of products.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, practices, and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Eligible for Reliability security clearance (individual must have 3 full years of verifiable history in Canada, USA, UK, New Zealand and/or Australia).
