The Role
As a Property & Casualty Actuarial Director, you will lead project teams dedicated to developing and delivering reserve and capital analyses for our insurance company clients. You will play a key role in our marketing efforts and the growth of this practice area for key client groups by leading and supporting client project teams as a Client Relationship Manager and Senior Practitioner, and by promoting thought leadership.
As an engagement and project leader, you will oversee the client and project teams with whom you work, and you will serve as a resource to managers, consultants, and analysts as you help them build their technical and client-facing expertise. You will be expected to meet revenue and billable hour goals as described by your manager and contribute to intellectual property and research development efforts.

Responsibilities:
Clients
Develop a trusted advisor relationship with client contacts through effective communication and efficient, quality execution of projects
Participate fully in the ICT practice and the achievement of the overall ICT business plan and budget.
Manage client expectations and raise appropriate issues to Subject Matter Experts or Client Relationship Managers
Contribute to the development of intellectual capital (new tools and approaches) for IFRS 17
Interface with colleagues from other practices and regions on assignments that reflect the client’s broader business issues
Develop new business opportunities and enhance existing relationships that support achieving the revenue goal described by your manager.
Draft statements of work, project plans and budgets involving multiple workflow streams and client teams

Directly contribute to clients’ success through applying your technical expertise
Support the generation of new business as part of the broader team

Contribute to the team’s knowledge for reserving, capital, and IFRS 17
Coordinate with colleagues within and outside of team to deepen team’s knowledge and application of IFRS 17
Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams
Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels
Serve as mentor to project team associates
The Requirements
Must Haves
FCIA/FCAS with 10+ years of experience in an insurance and/or actuarial environment involving reserving, capital management/modelling and exposure to IFRS 17
Qualified and able to step into Appointed Actuary roles
Strong analytical skills including ability to draw conclusions and identify trends from data in a logical, systematic way
Proven experience successfully managing multiple projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget
Strong client relationship, interpersonal and team skills
Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues
The ability to see the “big picture,” leveraging the resources of related practices to address clients’ business challenges
Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Strong client relationship, interpersonal and team skills
Availability to travel on an as needed basis
Strong oral and written communication skills in English and French for all candidates residing in Quebec
Nice to Haves
Experience in pricing, predictive analytics, stochastic reserving/capital modelling, claims analytics an asset
Experience with WTW software including ResQ, Igloo, Radar/Emblem and/or Unify an asset
Experience working in an insurance and/or actuarial consulting environment in a sales or business development role and client relationship management role
