The Operations Manager will be someone who is able to work independently, has excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills and the ability set priorities and meet deadlines. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and accurate and timely work. The duties of this position require the position to provide independent non-partisan advice and services.
Primary Accountabilities
Assists in budget preparation, procurement and tenders, asset management, and financial management including financial reporting systems.
Recruitment including the creation of job descriptions and interview questions, screening, and interviewing.
Manages the information and technical requirements, including preventative maintenance schedules for the Legislative Assembly systems such as audio and video systems, Hansard recording system, FM transmitter system, and web streaming.

Essential Qualifications

Diploma in Business Administration, Office Administration, Finance, Human Resources or related field.
Demonstrated experience performing accounting functions such as budget preparation (O&M and Capital).
Experience performing human resources recruitment functions.
Experience with asset management, procurement and contracting would be an asset.
Experience in information and technology systems would be an asset.
Candidates who have a combination of education, training and experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Suitability
Proficient in Microsoft office programs and databases.
Excellent time management, setting priorities, project management, and decision-making skills.
Superior written and oral communicator for working with the public and other stakeholders.
Experience interpreting statutory requirements and developing management and operational policies and procedures.
Ability to solve problems and to mediate and negotiate with various stakeholders.
Knowledge of the Yukon and its people.
Additional information:
Conditions of Employment: Valid Yukon Class 5 driver’s licence.
