The WoodSource is seeking a Marketing Intern to join our team for the Summer semester.

The WoodSource is a growing Canadian business providing custom millwork services and specialty lumber to Eastern Ontario and beyond. Sourcing woods locally and from around the globe, we supply some of the finest building materials to business partners, contractors, independent homeowners, and skilled craftsmen. YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Marketing Intern will support key marketing activities, customer relations initiatives, and marketing projects throughout the semester. The intern will work closely with the Sales Manager and with the Sales team to ensure effective monitoring and response times on our social media platforms and will act as the primary driver of some key sales and marketing projects over the course of the semester.
Schedule: 30-40 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
Location: 6178 Mitch Owens Rd, Manotick
Start Date: May 3, 2021 target
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the management of social media accounts;
- Support key marketing/sales projects including ecommerce initiatives and other digital marketing projects;
- Drive online store use and growth by managing the back end of the Shopify store;
- Support the graphic design needs of the business;
- Develop ad campaigns using Google Adwords and other social media tools;
- Other tasks as required.
WHAT YOU NEED
- Professional approach and presence;
- Outstanding attitude: have initiative, display excellent follow-up, have a positive outlook and be a pleasure to work with;
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal);
- An ability to learn quickly;
- Ability to use Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel;
- Experience working with design software (Canva, Adobe Suite, etc.) is considered an asset;
- Experience working with digital marketing tools (adwords, Facebook ad manager) is considered an asset;
- Previous retail experience is considered an asset;
- Currently enrolled in a design or business program in College or University.
This role is based directly at the job site. Policies to protect workers’ health and safety have been implemented to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Contract length: 4 months
