The accounts logistics Manager will be responsible for overseeing all elements of the Accounts Receivable and Accounts payables. This position will focus on the accurate and timely processing of all customer invoices as well as ensuring that the company receives payments for outstanding invoices and properly records the transactions by posting receipts and resolving discrepancies according to established policies and procedures in an efficient, timely and accurate manner.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist in the management of day-to-day operations and assignments of Accounting staff, plan and organize work, communicate goals, and schedule/assign work.
- Ensure the timely and accurate billing of all customer invoices and reducing days to invoice lead time in accordance with company practices and customer contract agreements
- Ensure that shipping documents, required for payment of invoices by customers, are assembled and verified by all team members for accuracy and properly imaged in the accounting system
- Where applicable, contact drivers to obtain PODs and other account specific information to ensure accurate and timely invoicing
- Investigate and resolve all customer billing disputes and ensure that all credit and rebills and control and monitor aged invoices
- Assist with month-end closing procedures for billing and accounts receivable
- Contact customers regarding overdue accounts and prepare and send weekly /monthly statement of accounts
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance and senior management
- Ensure accuracy of financial transactions;
- Ability to Supervise 5-10staff members, assign work and train junior payroll/ accounting staff, and other administrative personnel;
- Verify accuracy and completeness of data and identify variances and implement corrective actions;
- Prepare budgets, payroll and associated documents;
- Prepare and submit reports;
- Resolve work related problems;
- Update records by reviewing and entering changes in exemptions insurance changes, deductions, paid-time not worked, status, and pay; calculating vacation earned;
- Prepare pay by verifying time records; calculating and producing checks or electronic transfers; calculating and producing quarterly incentive bonuses;
- Create and implement New customer on boarding process, drafting standard operating procedures for staff members to follow.
Qualifications and requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
- Minimum of 5-7 years in accounting and finance with a transportation company with 3 years managerial experience
- Must speak fluent English.
- This job requires ability to perform the following:
- Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances are utilized frequently.
- Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities are used often.
- Reading abilities are used often in reviewing financial analyses, budgets, and other related reports.
- Writing abilities are used in compiling these financial reports, as well as to document.
- Professional attitude and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
