RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in the EMS to ensure meeting all regulatory compliance and pollution prevention.
- Schedule incoming receipts for dock appointments and outbound shipments using the most current job order, coordinating with carriers to assure lowest cost carriers are utilized for on-time deliveries.
- Review all paperwork for completeness, and accuracy, comparing with system generated reports, making corrections when confirmed.
- Prepare outgoing Bill of Lading, Customs documents and Hazardous Manifests, attaching necessary SDS, Land Ban, and other related forms to documents, for domestic and international shipments
- Properly route all printed Job Orders and Quotes as received, maintain open files for Logistics, monitor systems for any changes to existing jobs to be updated, maintain closed files for Logistics.
- Input daily shipments and receipts into tracking system.
- Monitor, track and arrange shipment of empty bins as per rental agreements, keep management informed of bin status onsite.
- Monitor warehouse supplies and various packaging requirements and order accordingly to prevent shortages.
- Notify customer and Sales of scheduled and actual shipments via fax, phone or e-mail messages in a timely manner.
- Maintain Hazardous Materials log and Non-Hazardous Materials logs and files, distributing copy to shippers
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of a high school diploma
- Previous knowledge of logistics and transportation is preferred
- At least 2 years of experience with shipping/receiving
- Must have knowledge of Microsoft office products; word, excel, power point
- TDG, DOT knowledge would be beneficial
- Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets would also be an asset
