Aston Carter Looking for Accounts Receivable Analyst (Healthcare) at Toronto, ON Full Time

Description:

Our client, a large healthcare firm is currently hiring for a Billing & Accounts Receivable Analyst to join their team. This is a high-volume, fast-paced department responsible for revenue through billing and collection. The Accounts Receivables Analyst plays a key role in supporting the management of patient billings and collection contributing to revenue and cash flow maximization. This role will focus on our Healthcare billing portfolios; it will include performing regular weekly and monthly submissions, error corrections and reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Provide Subject Matter Expertise on responsible insurers
• Review, evaluate and submit billings for external and internal clients
• Update or escalate to management with regards to changes that impact workflow or revenue; participate in system testing should it require a change in the system
• Assist with audits

Ensure Accurate and Timely Billing

• Liaise with internal departments, clients, and Research team in a professional manner
• Work closely with a variety of different stakeholders in order to assure the timely reception and submissions of billing files
• Review the accuracy of data prior to billing
• Timely invoice submission

Ensure Timely Collection

• Maintain healthy aging portfolio by following up persistently on overdue accounts
• Review Payment Summary
• Investigate rejection timely to rebill or appeal as appropriate to minimize write-off
• Perform cross-functional duties consistent with the job classification, as required

Reporting Duties

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports/materials for audit committee, including balance sheet reconciliations.

Additional Details:

• Two types of billing they work on, Patient & Client
• Responsible to 2500 accounts and invoices (monthly) 1st business day of the month invoices will go to printing que, candidate will separate and mail to clients
• Each client receives one invoice per month and the charges accumulate for that month
• Candidate will be working heavily with Physicians and needs to remain calm under pressure

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

MUST HAVE 1: 3+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable role

• Experience processing 100+ invoices daily
• Experience with collections, 20-30 emails/calls a day
• Invoicing, processing payment, reconciliations, collections, billing & balance sheet reconciliations
• Experience with General Accounting

MUST HAVE 2: Basic Excel Skills

(Formulas, Layout of Spreadsheet)

MUST HAVE 3: Strong Communication written and verbal

• Experience speaking with stakeholders for collections on the phone/email

*Education: Completion of a Business Administration or Accounting diploma OR equivalent relevant experience*

Qualifications:

• Completion of a Business Administration or Accounting diploma OR equivalent relevant experience
• Knowledge of fundamental accounting practices and principles
• Proven self-learning and initiation skills; work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities under stressful conditions to meet tight deadline with minimal direction
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills both verbal and written
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service and satisfaction
• Excellent attention to detail with proven analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to identify gap and propose solutions
• Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, with an aptitude for learning new computer applications quickly
• Ability to discuss Financial coverage with patients and/or family members
