Job Description

Reporting to the Chair, Learning and Teaching Services, the Academic Manager manages all course development related activities and processes for the Learning and Teaching Services unit, oversees quality PLAR assessment practices assessment practices, and supports academic areas with special projects as they arise.
In addition, the incumbent would have involvement with departmental budgets as well as special project budgets and expenditures. The incumbent manages workflow and associated staff through the creation and management of plans, schedules and communication strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Master’s degree, preferably with a specialization in Education;
- Professional designation or formal training in project management would be an asset;
- Seven (7) years’ relevant experience in a post-secondary education environment, preferably including experience with program and/course development, including two (2) years’ experience leading diverse teams and work assignments within a unionized work environment;
- 5 years experience working with external stakeholders;
- Experience in the design and management of complex projects with minimal direction and supervision;
- Experience with operational and project budgets and expenditures, as well as externally funded project budgets;
- Experience managing projects and associated staff by creating and managing project plans, schedules, and reporting in a postsecondary environment;
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills;
- Superior organizational, planning, and financial management skills;
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Demonstrated commitment to student success, teaching excellence, quality education, and continuous improvement.
- This position is paid at Pay Band 11
