Position Overview:

Coquitlam College Marketing and Communications Department is looking to hire a responsible, outgoing social media coordinator starting December 2023. Our ideal candidate is passionate about crafting engaging content, driving brand awareness, and connecting with audiences both online and in-person.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, initiate, and execute organic social media strategies and initiatives individually and in cooperation with the Marketing and Communications team;
• Liaises with internal and external key stakeholders, including faculty, students, alumni, and staff to write, edit and facilitate production of social media marketing and communications materials, while working closely with the marketing team to ensure consistency with the brand identity and graphic standards;
• Support Coquitlam College social media accounts, including creating engaging content, visuals, posting, moderating, and tracking results across all social media platforms;
• Ensure content (i.e. videos, images, carousels, captions, etc.) is up to date with social media trends and changes in algorithms to ensure content remains relevant and effective;
• Research, track analytics, and provide monthly metrics for social media activity;
• Recommends useful metrics and uses appropriate tools to track reputation/sentiments and analyze and deliver key insights to managers;
• Monitors/tracks social media activity and responds in a timely manner to ensure and maintain positive presence;
•  Assist with other in-house digital media print and digital projects as needed.

Requirements:

•  Must be a self-starter who shows initiative;
• Proven ability to independently prioritize job tasks and media needs;
• Demonstrated knowledge of, on top of current trends, and active posting with standard social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok) and demonstrated passion for social media;
• Must be a strong, collaborative team player, who approaches projects with enthusiasm and is open to out-of-the-box-ideas;
• Passion for photography and videography to create and edit all photo and video content;
• Flexibility available to attend extracurricular events both on campus and off.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in digital marketing or related field;
•  2+ years of professional experience in similar role;
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills;
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign experience preferred;
• Working knowledge of Hootsuite Enterprise, Microsoft Suite;
• Strong understanding of branding, a keen eye for grammar, and strong organizational skills to work to short deadlines.
