Position: Electrical Designer
Location: Vaughn – working on site 5 days/week
Job Type: Permanent
Our client, a leader in their industry, designing and manufacturing rotating equipment is looking to hire an Electrical Designer-CAD Draftsperson. This role will entail generating electrical drawings and documentation required for the manufacture, testing and commissioning of machinery.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
– Assist with control system design by generating BOM and electrical drawings according to engineering procedures
– Generate 3D models of machine wiring using SolidWorks
– Create standard symbols, update and maintain the SolidWorks electrical database
– Assist with integration of other SolidWorks CAD products in engineering workflow
– Work safely – learn and follow applicable workplace safety procedures (of company’s machinery and third party’s)
– Learn and apply national and international industrial electrical standards
– Learn and apply applicable national and international machine safety standards
– Adapt to customer requirements regarding machine hardware and software specifications
– Execute other duties as assigned

Requirements:

– Industrial Electricians or graduates of the following education programs will have skills applicable to this position: Electronics Engineering Technician, Electronics Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technician – Control Systems, Electrical Engineering Technology – Control Systems, Electromechanical Engineering Technician, Electrical Technician – Industrial
– 1+ years of experience in an electrical CAD drafting/designing role
– Experience generating electrical drawings and documentation required for the manufacture, testing and commissioning of wire and cable machinery
– Experience with SolidWorks Electrical CAD software is preferred, however, experience with other comparable products is sufficient (AutoCAD Electrical, Eplan, etc.)
– Ability to communicate clearly in English both verbally and in writing to other employees and customers
– Strong mechanical aptitude
– Excellent computer skills – must be proficient with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and Word
– Experience with any programming language is helpful
