Volkswagen St. John’s Looking for Service Consultant at St. John’s, NL Full Time

As a member of our service team, you’ll provide first-class service with the goal of building and maintaining great relationships with our clients.

The primary function of the position is to initiate services and automotive repairs required for our clients. Verifying warranty and service contract coverage, developing estimates, writing repair orders, maintaining records, while having a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.

Other Requirements include:

• Confirm warranty and service contract coverage by examining customer records and papers; explaining provisions and exclusions

• Ensure new and used car warranty repairs by approving adjustments within standard warranty periods

• Develop estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor, calculating customer’s payment, including deductibles if applicable

• Assist with coordination of alternate transportation such as shuttle service, limited loaner program or rental vehicles

• Responsible for greeting customers, listening to requests, scheduling appointments, and estimating costs

• Work with customers to determine problems with a vehicle and provide technicians with accurate repair descriptions

• Verify and write accurate repair orders and complete by reviewing all copies, including supporting documentation

• Contact the customer to obtain authorization for repairs, making sure to first address the customer’s main concerns before up-selling other repair that have been suggested by the technician

• Give consistent updates to clients about the status of their vehicles

• Do full walk around for each client vehicle in for service work, complete detailed walkaround sheet

• Receive payment for the work completed, handle the cash or credit transaction and ensure customer satisfaction

• Refer to service history, inspect vehicle, and recommend additional needed service clients

• Promote the sales of appropriate services, parts, and accessories by thoroughly understanding Bill Matthews Volkswagen Audi product and service requirements

• Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of counters, displays, and client contact areas by following company policies and procedures

• Uniform is supplied and mandatory

• Perform a consultative vehicle delivery with the client when work is completed

• Build and maintain knowledge of Bill Matthews Volkswagen Audi products and services by training on-the-job and participating in education and development programs

Education – Experience

• Strong organization skills

• Technically knowledgeable (preferred)

• High school diploma or equivalent (post secondary preferred but not required)

• Previous service work or automotive work a benefit

Attributes

• Strong phone and personal communication skills required

• Outgoing and patient personality with good client relation ability

Salary

• Starting rate is $19.79/hour as per collective agreement

• Hours are 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday

• This is a union position and all rates of pay and benefits are outline in

collective Agreement

• 90-day probationary period before entering collective agreement
