Role:
As the Grocery Buyer – you will be supporting the business and financial performance of various assigned categories, including the alcohol category through the purchase & transferring of products centrally at the Livmore retail location for the online business while also supporting the physical pick, pack, and shipping requirements for the overall Fresh City daily operation on the alcohol category from Livmore. The Buyer will drive the business through the development of sales, purchasing, maintenance support, troubleshooting, administrative management, communication, transferring online, and more.
Duties and Responsibilities.
Buying and Fulfillment across Multiple Channels:
Use ERP to purchase products centrally for multiple locations & business channels with a focus on achieving sales goals, gross margin objectives, and shrink targets.
Following process and procedures for purchasing and receiving in NAV (ERP) as per Standard Operating Procedures and in a timely fashion.
Supply management for Online Next Day and Retail.
Inventory control for Online Next Day, Retail, and Production.
KPIs: Margin, Out-of-stock credits, Store fulfillment, Sales performance, category growth, shrink percentage.
Vendor communications; coordinate purchasing details with vendors, including pricing revisions, order cancellations, discontinued items, backorders, delivery dates, and invoice discrepancies.
ERP, E-comm platform & product maintenance:
Keeping our e-commerce platform(s) up-to-date: control product availability, descriptions, and proper tags and ribbons to identify special attributes and promotions.
Be accountable for the integrity of product information, such as certifications, sourcing, packaging, and transparency.
Ensure Purchase Orders & Transfer Orders are executed & reconciled properly & in a timely fashion.
People and Team
Act professionally and lead by example in terms of maintaining a positive, proactive, and productive leadership style. Take the high road and maintain a high level of confidentiality and trust throughout the store.
Partnership: Work closely with colleagues across Fresh City including Marketing, Customer Support, Operations, Production, Retail and more, while modeling clear and effective communication with these teams.
Retail Management:
Oversee the bottle shop deliverables (e.g. inventory, ordering, item maintenance, quality, and rotation, shrink, merchandising, invoicing, transferring).
Receive, verify and accept goods from suppliers.
Manage all Pick, Pack, and Ship requirements daily for Transfers.
With the Store Manager, oversee the facilities.
Manage the process of escalation, damage control, and customer relations, that relate to maintenance at the store level and record and report instances of theft, confrontations, and other issues that arise in the bottle shop.
Ensure we remain 100% compliant with the AGCO.
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience with Microsoft Excel and Google Drive is a must. Experience with ERPs would be highly beneficial but not essential.
Retail experience and previous experience with buying, and supply chain management is desired.
Communication – you are a strong written and verbal communicator.
Attention to detail – you pay close attention to detail and are able to stay organized.
Agility – you are dynamic and can change gears quickly, and a team or company goals evolve.
Self-starter – you are capable of producing a high quantity of work within tight deadlines.
Prioritization – you have the ability to prioritize and quickly adapt to a changing environment.
Some repetitive heavy lifting required up to 40lbs.
