The Safety & Training Manager will report to the General Manager.
This position is located in Sussex, New Brunswick, Canada and is not available for remote work.
What you will do:
Manage the Safety and Training Departments and will be responsible for providing leadership and directing the overall safety and training strategy for the Division
Provide leadership and direction for the comprehensive, sustainable training effort at Nutrien New Brunswick
Manage and work with a Learning Management System (LMS) and Learning Content Management System (LCMS) ensuring government and company regulations, policies, guidelines and objectives are met
Ensure employee safety, product quality, cost effectiveness, and environmental sensitivity is a focus
Implement, administer, assess and audit the Nutrien New Brunswick Safety System
Support a safe work environment for all employees by maintaining compliance with all applicable safety standards, leading by example, and promoting a safety attitude to all employees
Lead continuous improvement initiatives in all areas of Safety through effective collaboration, cooperation, and communication with all employees
Oversee assessments, audits, investigations with the end goal of improving the safety culture on site
Support front line and functional management in the implementation of safety and training programs
Ensure employees are set up for success through effective training and development in the area of physical and psychological safety
Liaison with Corporate and Regulatory bodies
What you will bring:
Excellent leadership skills to lead the Safety and Training programs at Nutrien -New Brunswick
A Designation in Safety or Training would be considered an asset but is not required
A background in both Safety and Training would be an asset. Particularly in program development and delivery
Familiarity with Computer Based Training systems
Experience with Root Cause investigation, Job Hazard Assessments and other safety programs
Knowledge around Mine Rescue would be an asset
Ability to develop and foster a team environment
Excellent organization and time management skills
