Key Responsibilities
Strategical planning and management of a global supply chain base for Lighting Americas
Establishes, implements, monitors, measures and reports Logistics performance metrics and establishes initiatives for continuous improvement
Manage the Customs / Logistics Team to achieve departmental goals
Supervise the RFQ (develop, negotiate, maintain) all asset based/3 PL transportation providers
Authority to select carriers and negotiate rates and contracts.
Oversee the resolution of transportation damage and loss claims
Develop and maintain KPI’s on budget to actual spend.
Harmonize transportation and Customs while working with purchasing to determine duties and tariffs when sourcing vendors.
Remain current on supply chain best practices and build network.
Oversee the monitoring of daily, weekly sweep runs, line hauls, LTL, LCL, Ocean, Air, MRO and expedites and manage the relationship with the 3pl logistics providers.
Coaching and mentoring of the Customs/Logistics team and actively developing their potential.
Oversee the creation of international shipping documents including monitoring INCO terms.
Key POC for Air charter, hand carry, direct team drives.
Understanding of customs procedures and documents as relates to US/MX/CA.
Advanced global project support, working with cross functional teams for tool and parts movement
Work with VA/VE group to determine and set packaging requirements to meet standards and to maximize truck payload and adhere to incoming warehouse storage requirements

Key Qualifications / Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Logistics or Material Management
Leadership skills to coordinate the activities and communicate the requirements of the company to both internal support and external vendors, logistic providers
Prior work experience with 7-10 years in an automotive manufacturing environment
Prior work experience with a transportation carrier/3PL/4PL would be an asset
Valid Driver’s license and ability to travel between plants required
T4M software experience preferred but not required
Experience with all forms of Global Expediting of freight, including Air Charters, Hand Carries and Dedicated trucks.
Must excel in a fast-paced environment
Ability to lead cross functional work teams.
Proven track record in previous position.
