Alquemy is looking for a Material and Process Professional to Shape the Future of Space Hardware Design and Manufacturing.
- As a Material and Process professional, you will participate in the design and manufacturing of space hardware by selecting/developing mechanical parts, materials, and processes that meet the physical/chemical requirements imposed by the space environment.
- Using vendor documentation, scientific literature, analyses, and tests, he/she must be capable of guiding the designs to address the following issues cost-effectively to support medium-size to large production: charging (ESD), EMI, outgassing/contamination, atomic oxygen attack, corrosion, stress-corrosion effects, radiation effects, UV degradation, etc.
- Thrive in a concurrent engineering environment, you must also be proactive, and oriented in providing “engineering solutions”.
- You must possess good communication skills to provide support to multiple departments: Engineering, Procurement, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing.
- Must have a degree in mechanical, metallurgical, chemical, or material engineering or equivalent and 8 to 12 years of pertinent experience in the space, defense, or automotive industry. He/she possesses some experience in metallurgy, plating, adhesives, paints and coatings, composite materials, and other advanced materials.
- Knowledge of database management/programming, preferably Microsoft Access, and some experience with CAD software (preferably Nx) are desirable.
- French bilingualism is an asset.
