We are currently seeking a Logistic coordinator in our growing Company, Asante Logistic Group in Truro.

TheLogistic coordinator managers in transportation freight traffic plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate companies or departments responsible for the transportation and movement of goods, under the direction of our general manager. This position is responsible for making sure the movement of freight across the globe is setup, handled and completed properly. The logistic coordinator would focus on our growing African market.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

• A bachelor’s degree in business administration or engineering is usually required.
• Several years of experience in transportation operations are usually required, including supervisory experience.
• Extensive experience as a supervisor and operator in a particular shipping to the African market
• Knowledge of the West African logistic and shipping of good and requirements is a requirement.
• Lived in the African Continent and have in-depth appreciation for the culture to be able to address day to day needs of customers in that region.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manages freight traffic, especially African shipping,

• Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the activities of shipping. Responsible for co-ordinating, arranging and monitoring the transportation and movement of goods.
• Arrange for shipping documentation and oversee the scheduling and dispatching of goods and the tracking and tracing of goods in transit
• Set performance goals, oversee the setting of transportation service rates and monitor revenue
• Develop plans and procedures for the transportation and storage of goods.
• Negotiate with carriers, warehouse operators and insurance company representatives for services and preferential rates.
• Manage the customer shipment process for assigned international and accounts from shipment readiness until delivery at destination.
• Prepare necessary documentation to ensure uninterrupted transport of product.
