The Atmosphere team has served the Fraser Valley and Greater Vancouver Area since 2003 and are known for their sales and installation expertise, outstanding customer focus and lifetime residential installation warranty. The company sells and services many customer types including residential customers, multi-family communities, national and regional home builders, commercial & general contractors, and government agencies.
Job Overview:
Through a high energy hands-on style guided by the objectives of the company, the Sales Representative’s main focus will be developing new relationships via account generation along with maintaining relationships with existing Atmosphere clientele. Day-to-day activities will include communicating with a variety of customers such as home-owners, contractors, apartment managers, and maintenance personnel, along with Atmospheres customer service team, warehouse, and installation coordination.
Relative Experience:
The Sales Representative’s main objective is new business development along with maintaining a high level of contact with their acquired customers through regular visits and calls. The person in this role can expect to be client facing the majority of the time and with the remainder of the time for account set up, maintenance and performing other sales related administrative duties.
A general knowledge of flooring materials and installation methods is beneficial; however, a thorough understanding of flooring types or processes is not necessary. Training on all types of materials and installation methods along with Atmosphere’s software will be provided. Strong phone and email communication, as well as the ability to multi-task in a hectic environment, are required. A strong sense of urgency and desire to creatively resolve problems is required.
Responsibilities:
Make sales calls to new customers along with maintaining a high level of contact with acquired customers through regular visits and calls;
Apply a thorough understanding of business practice, industry trends and the competitive landscape to overcome objections of prospective customers;
Achieve and work towards meeting and exceeding sales forecasts;
Build and manage trust-based relationships with your key clients and attend networking events regularly to create new opportunities;
Build and manage trust-based relationships with suppliers in order to expand Atmosphere Floors potential;
Other functions including representing the organization at trade exhibitions and industry meetings;
Completing the entire estimating process un-aided including takeoffs, preparing estimate proposals, change orders, and other relevant items;
Interacting with the customer regarding the proposal and must have a thorough understanding of each project that is bid.
As part of an “Up” system. Junior Sales Representatives can expect to spend more floor time developing a client base while Senior Sales Representatives would expect to spend more time in the field.
Qualifications
For a Senior Sales position, a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the flooring industry is required; For a Junior Sales position flooring, sales and/or related construction experience will be considered.
Post-secondary degree or diploma in a sales or marketing related discipline is an asset OR an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered;
Valid driver’s license.
Experience / Knowledge
A demonstrated track record winning project-based business using your strong negotiation skills
Outstanding face-to-face client communication skills required.
Excellent interpersonal skills along with an ability to network externally and develop strong business relationships
Strong customer service mentality with the ability to empathize with client situations.
Self-motivation, dedication, and persistence a must.
The desire to seek out the most efficient and effective way to solve problems and complete tasks.
Good typing, RFMS, Word and Outlook skills required. Intermediate Excel skills required.
Excellent organization and time management skills are essential.
Ability to learn the company’s scheduling/accounting/inventory software.
Commission/Payment Structure
A Senior Sales Representative will be paid a full commission based on the completed job Gross Revenue. Bi-weekly draws less government deductions will be directly deposited and commission less government deductions will be payable on job completion.
A Junior Sale Representative will be paid an hourly rate + bonus commission based on the completed job Net Profit. Hours less government deductions are paid bi-weekly and will be directly deposited. Bonus commission less government deductions will be payable on job completion.
